Muncaster Castle, Ravenglass

Each year Muncatser Castle holds its fair over the Spring Bank Holiday. The culmination of events ends with the choosing of the fool, a piece of tradition that has eeked out the centuries in thsi lovely part of Cumbria.

We decided to go along to see the wonderful location, Muncaster has one of the most amazing views available in the lakes; and to let the kids play on the fair that would be there.

At the same time we were able to view the Owls, Muncaster is a world-renown Owl Sanctuary; and to go into the Vole Maze, a bit of fun and leafrning about meadows for small children.

The views from Muncaster, and the fact that they show late-night screenings of classic movies in the summer, make me yearn to live closer to this place. Muncaster has a truly stunning view and it seems there is plentry of forest and garden to wander around.

A location we will doubtless be returning to.
