10th February 2013
It was Chinese New Year today, we originally wanted to stay close to home as Lancaster has, in the past, placed events on the Chinese New Year. This year there seemed to be a lack of any information on the websites as to anything occurring, so we decided to go further afield.
For that reason we took the decision to hop over to Manchester in the car to check out the larger event they hold each year in Albert Square and Chinatown.
I am glad we did, it may have been cold and a little wet, but the show was quite good with a number of performers, a giant Chinese dragon to amuse the kids and some dancing lions going in and out of the stores in Chinatown.
